Frequently Asked Questions

What does SEGUE Mean?

SEGUE (pronounced SEG-WAY) means to transition from one position to another.   We thought this was a great name for our business as this is essentially what you are doing on our machines.

What is a PMD?

A personal mobility device is a fun way to glide along.  It is a self a self-balancing, personal transportation device designed to go anywhere people do. Easy to use and operate, the two-wheeled PMD sports high-tech gyroscopes that monitor your balance and automatically respond to your body’s movements. To move forward, the rider simply leans forward. To stop or move backwards, the rider leans back slightly. The rider glides smoothly as the PMD senses where you want to go. PMD’s are fully electric and emission free, meaning a low carbon footprint, which is great for environment.

How long is each PMD tour?

The morning Turtle Trail Tour takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.

The afternoon Sunset and Tapas Tour takes approximately 45 minutes for the ride and however long you want to stay at the restaurant. You may want to continue the night by making dinner reservations.

PMD’s are very easy to ride. Most new riders will get the hang of riding their device within 5 minutes. Our experienced tour guide will show and teach you how to ride your PMD with a training session at the beginning of your tour to ensure you feel comfortable, safe and have a fun time riding your PMD.

Are there any laws about using PMD’s?

Yes, in Queensland, a personal mobility device can be used on road-related areas such as paths and nature strips.

Further, riders of PMD’s must:

  • keep left on paths
  • give way to pedestrians on paths
  • keep left of oncoming bicycles and other personal mobility devices on paths
  • have a working warning device, such as a bell or horn
